Our one-of-a-kind patented ice dam melting product is designed to melt through ice, creating relief points for drainage. This allows trapped water to flow off the roof and not cause harm to roofing materials. Roofmelt is in retailers all across the northern U.S. and Canada.

HOW IT WORKS

Roofmelt is as easy to use as it is safe and effective. While standing on the ground, toss a Roofmelt tablet onto the roof. The Roofmelt tablet then melts its way down and settles on the roof’s surface. Roofmelt begins to work when it comes into contact with snow and ice. The Roofmelt and water mixture begin to melt away (from the bottom up) the existing ice dam. Water drains from the roof to the ground. The ice dam and snow are safely eliminated.

MADE IN THE USA

All of KMI’s products, including Roofmelt, are manufactured in West Michigan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Roofmelt harm my shingles?

If used as directed, Roofmelt will not harm asphalt shingles or the surrounding area. 11 years of testing has revealed no negative effects.

Does Roofmelt harm my plant life or pets?

Direct contact with undissolved Roofmelt tablets may cause stressing of grass and can be a dehydrant for pets. Flush with water if pets come in contact with undissolved tablets. Note: Once Roofmelt has dissolved it is not harmful to plants or animals and is 100% biodegradable.

I had 12-inch-thick ice dams and Roofmelt didn’t seem to help that much. What went wrong?

For heavy ice buildup we recommend clustering several tablets in one area to melt a channel in the ice dam, which will allow trapped water to drain.

What is the intended result of Roofmelt?

Roofmelt is designed to melt through the ice, creating relief points for drainage. This allows trapped water to flow off the roof and not cause harm to roofing materials.

What are some precautionary measures to take with Roofmelt?

  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes: wear protective goggles, long-sleeve shirts, trousers, gloves and boots for routine product use. Use good hygiene and housekeeping practices. Close bucket tightly. Store bucket in dry, clean area. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid standing under treated areas. Avalanche or mass snow movement may occur. Roofmelt is not recommended for use on exposed metal roofing material. Using Roofmelt on wooden shingles may cause temporary staining. Roofmelt is not a preventative and is not meant for use on dry roofs. Do not use Roofmelt on or above newly poured concrete.

What if I accidentally come in contact with Roofmelt?

In contact with eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes. Consult a physician if symptoms persist. In contact with skin, wash with soap and water. If ingested, drink 2-4 glasses of water. Get medical attention for any irritation, ingestion or discomfort from inhalation.

Roofmelt  is a very easy product to use, works so good you will be amazed. This winter 2010 so far in Minnesota has been hard for so many of us. Endless shoveling. 40 + inches of snow a record setting year for sure. Now melting snow creates ice dams. I had a bad one for the last 2 weeks and it was growing, Almost 12 inches thick at edge of roof. I turned to RoofMelt for help. I raked the heavy snow drift back about 6 feet. Dropped the RoofMelt tabs as the instructions said and the magic happened. Within 5 hours water was draining off, not freezing and the dam within 5 hours was reduced by several inches thick. Now today 3 days later the ice dam is gone. Its so easy no ladders no problems no ice dams. RoofMelt is what you need. For less then  $20.00 you will save thousands from damage that would have been caused. Buy this product its the best out there. I guarantee it !!
